Little itty bitty booties - Free Crochet Pattern

Hello again my lovlies. I know, 2 posts in a day! Looks like Im on a roll with getting things finished today huh!

Id like to share with you all today a pattern for crocheted booties. Not just any normal crocheted booties but very small open heeled booties. These little darlings are just over 3cm in length to fit 20-22 weeks gestation and in reality, probably about the smallest bootie you would be able to use. Keep in mind that babies this small are so delicate and hard to dress that open heels are a must. Remember to use soft yarn for them.

Some hospitals may not accept these as wearable items, if not they would also be wonderful to have as a memory item. Originally made to go with a gown and the purple picots hat but I didn't get them all up together. Either way, here goes!

Little Itty Bitty Booties

2.5mm hook and 4ply fingering weight yarn. I used Bella Baby Sugar in Lilac and some mystery pink 4ply for the tie.

1. ch3, dc into the first chain 9 times, join

2 - 3. ch2, hdc in each stitch around, join

4 - 6. ch2, hdc in the next 7 stitches, TURN

7. ch2, hdc in the next 3 stitches, hdc2tg, hdc in the last 2 stitches, dont end!!

CUFFS

8. ch3, dc evenly in the end stitches (from the previous rows) around the top of the bootie (where the ankle will be)

9. ch3, turn, dc in each st around, finish off and weave in ends.

For tie:

Make a chain of 60. Trim ends and weave tie in and out of the dc's on row 8. Tie at the back of the heel in a bow.

  2. I want so badly to make this pattern but row 8 completely flummoxed me! What in the world are "end stitches"? Does that mean the stitches from row 6? Sorry, I just need some help with this pattern!
